Better browsing capabilities

While the Safari on the iPhone does give good browsing capabilities, it’s the only option available for iPhone. Which makes the iPhone a little rigid. Another thing is that Safari does not use Adobe Flash player. So you can’t view multimedia content that plays on Flash. Cut to the browsers on the Android phones, they are probably the more versatile ones. Android phones can accommodate multiple browsers that provide Flash compatibility.

Better connectivity

You can save you battery power on Android phones by using the various conservation features. You can download third-party applications that manage your wireless connections. Android mobile phones have better navigational features to access your bluetooth, WiFi and GPS.

Customizations

You can use Android’s multitasking features to do various things at one time. Apart from that, the rich-media content can be highly personalized. This feature is not present in the iPhone. You can set the way your UI screens look. You can different screens for different applications. You can also set the way your Android phone works. Android phones offer so much customizations, that it can truly be called personalized mobile phones.

Open architecture

Android phones are built on Linux. Everyone knows the code base. This makes it even better for improvements. When the code is known by a wider section of people, improvements to the mobile phone can be made by a wider section of developers. This is a much better thing, than being a proprietary architecture, that only a set of limited people know about. But, the downside of this is that hackers might know how to get their way into Android phones. Yet, this is not a weakness, because if the open source community gets a whiff of it, it is plugged immediately.

There are a lot of other things that make Android phones better than the iPhone. Now with many mobile phone, smartphone, and tablet manufacturers turning to Android, the gap looks to widen more.

Choosing memory cards for digital cameras

Choosing memory cards for digital cameras is not as easy as it looks. The memory card should be able to accommodate the number of images you click and it should retain it with the highest quality. Most digi-cameras store data on memory cards.

A memory card is also called as flash card. It is an electronic device capable of storing data. Memory cards are multi-purpose storage utilities and can be used in mobile phones and other handheld devices as well. They are the size of a stamp, and portable with the ability to store data without the need of powering it up.

The images from the memory card are transferred to a laptop or computer through cables. A card reader can also do this job. The memory card is inserted into the card reader. The card reader is a USB device that attaches to the computer, and the transfer takes place. More than a cable, memory card readers are better, as they offer quicker downloads of data from the memory card to the computer.  Now to understand the amount of storage you need on your memory card, you need to understand the pixel-strength of your camera. It also comes down to how your camera stores digital images shot from it. JPEG image formats take lesser storage space as they employ compression mechanisms.

So the trick is to use lower megabyte memory card for lower megapixel cameras and vice versa. A minimum of 1MB is needed when choosing a memory card for a digital camera. You will also need to check the memory card supported by your camera. Check your camera’s product literature on this. Though there is a variety of memory cards from different brands, your camera might support only some or many of them.

Cameras nowadays do not come with memory cards. Even if they did, it would not be sufficient for your personal needs. So you might want to buy another memory card.

Artificial petrol is the need of the times. With dwindling fossil fuel resources, it is time a shift towards artificial or synthetic petrol is made. Artificial petrol will solve the problem of one of the greatest inventions of mankind – locomotion. Since inventing the wheel, human beings have re-defined the way they travel time and again.

With escalating fuel prices, economies are on the brink of breakdown unable to bear the burden of paying a premium for an indispensable need. The need to move defines the rise of human beings. It also influences the way countries function. Petrol is not just costly, it has become priceless. Even though it is a basic need, it will soon become so expensive, that its price will start moving towards a luxury-commodity. It is quite a paradox, isn’t it? But not anymore. Enter artificial petrol.

What is artificial petrol? To give you the answer, let us tell you about a recent happening. A team of scientists from Britain invented an artificial version of petrol. This artificial petrol is so inexpensive that you can fill loads of it, and still not worry about going bankrupt! That’s because this petrol will cost within a pound for a gallon.

British scientists are working extensively on this hydrogen based formulation. This artificial petrol can easily supersede the petrol that is used now. It will indeed be quite a revelation and a relief. What remains to be seen is how well artificial petrol fares. Will it be great for the engines? Will people still prefer power over cost? If yes, then conventional petroleum does have those attributes. And people may not stop using conventional petrol altogether.

The main difference between conventional petrol and artificial petrol is the core constituent. While carbon remains the core constituent of conventional petrol, it is hydrogen for artificial petrol. Unlike carbon, burning hydrogen will not cause global warming, or cause polluted air.

Peer-to-peer networking has changed the way servers work

Peer-to-peer networking is also abbreviated as P2P. You might have come across this term many times and wondered what it was. P2P is a new-age computing technique that chops down workloads into random parts. Each part will be rendered by a distributed computing architecture. P2P is increasingly becoming popular by people with huge data needs.The part rendering the partial workload will be performed by a peer. Every peer will have the equal responsibility of ensuring the task becomes a success.  In a computer networking, P2P network can form between groups of computers that are connected by a common application installed on them.

The idea behind a P2P network is multiple. Computing resources like processor power, storage capacity, and bandwidth are shared between the computers. By doing this, pressure is released of a single computer that will need to perform the task, in case if P2P networking was not existent.

P2P nodes intake and output resources like multimedia content and so on. This is different from the client-server model where only one computer is the consumer while the other is a server. In P2P networking the nodes are both servers as well as consumers.

P2P is extremely useful for sharing files. When huge chunks of data need to be downloaded P2P networks solve this problem. While in the traditional methods, one server was accessed for a huge chunk of file, in P2P, ‘’seeds’’ are searched. Seeds are computers that already have this file.

The advantages of this technology are immense. In the age of increasing demand for multimedia resources over the internet, a distributed resource and task sharing mechanism eases network traffic. The decentralized approach is better than a centralized one where a single server or single servers will be pounded with requests for data. Without such technology it might be virtually impossible to download movies over the internet. Even if possible it could take much more time than what it could if using P2P technology.

X-Ray Technician – Career Outlook

With the opening of many new hospitals and many others under expansions, there is a huge demand rising for X-ray technicians and this field expected to open up more than any other through 2016 does does. To become an X-ray technician, you are required to complete several courses and levels of trainings that could last from one year to a total of four years.

As an X-Ray technician, you are required to make proper position of the patients on the table and the X-ray pictures as requested by the physician. You can also inject the patients with specific dyes that come to reading by the imaging equipment. You are also required to know all the procedures that are required to protect the patients and yourself from radiation emitted by the equipment, maintain the equipment properly and keep regular patient records.

Pursuing Radiologic Technology Program in Miami

The role of Radiologic technician is to medical condition diagnosis and they are important in any hospital in the country. These technicians are responsible for producing diagnosis images like the X-Rays and other medical images for the physicians to diagnose and suggest possible treatments to the patients. With the growing demand of radiologic technicians, it is wise to pursue a career in this field. In Miami, Florida there are six approved programs in this field.

Primarily you can choose to pursue this degree in the technical schools and other schools specializing in the vocational medical training that offer radiologic technician programs. The universities and colleges that offer this course are the University of Miami Medical Center, Medvance Institute, Dade Medical College, Keiser University and the Miami Dade College and also at the Miami’s Professional Training Center.

There are various types of programs generally leading to a degree or certification in Radiologic technology. But till date, there is no single set requirement for a job in this field. You can pursue the degree or course in any of the institutes in Miami that offer them, though the bachelor’s degree is offered only by the University of Miami.

The admissions into the most of radiologic technology programs are similar. Basic high school diploma is mandatory or a GED is also acceptable provided the candidate is at least 18 years of age. Some colleges like the Dade Medical College needs the students to complete a personal interview as one of the essentials of the admission process. Each school has its own set of requirements that it expects from its students, so make sure you do some homework to decide which suits you. Will we Ever Really Wear Computers?

If you are old enough to have watched educational programming in the 90s (the kind where nobody sings), you might remember an old show called Beyond 2000. Needless to say, this show has been off the air for quite some time, for obvious reasons. But in its day, it predicted the extreme popularity of personal communications devices (which in retrospect were the bulky, slow precursors of today’s smart phones and netbooks), as well as some car designs which are only now becoming street legal. One of the most interesting things about the computers they suggested we might all one day be wearing (but which we are not at the moment) is the backpack mounted model where an eye piece allows you to check out a small screen which feeds you information contextually.

The device is bulky, and it makes you look nerdier than that Wozniak guy. But the idea was very cool, in its day; you can go on the Internet and look up anything, at any time. The point is, nobody seems to want to wear computers- we all seem to be all right with carrying them around in our pockets, and then whipping them out to do whatever tasks we feel like at any given moment. But nobody seems especially keen to have one be a permanent fixture on our faces and bodies.

One concern some people probably have is depth perception. If you have on an eye piece, you can’t see especially well, especially if you happen to be driving. Another problem for some people might also be the weight aspect of the back mounted computer. If it weighs 10 pounds, that 10 pounds might seem more like 100 by the end of a long day. In cases like that, you start to wonder if the entire idea has any merits whatsoever. Will people ever really wear computers like they do in science fiction, or will we just wear boring cloth clothes?

Until the computer age it seemed to take hours and days, even weeks to come up with a balanced budget written down that the family could follow. Without computers it seemed like planning and setting future goals was something people talked about doing, but the average person had no where to start, especially if you couldn’t afford an accountant or a life coach.

Today with software created for at home use many people are now finding ways to become better planners. There are simple programs like Microsoft Excel or Quick Books that allow quick and pain-free budgeting and future planning.  There are free programs like File Zilla and Ares Galaxy from the open source website Ares for transferring sensitive files to backup servers.  Without the various software programs available today, many of them for free on the web, people were lost.

Now, with an at home computer, individuals can complete their budgeting and manipulate it with easy steps that and formulas that show what happens with simple changes to spending habits. Tracking has never been easier especially since access to bank account information, credit card spending, and utility bills can all be accessed online. With all this information available easily we can make changes to insurance policies, automatically pay bills directly from the back, and set up automatic payments for certain bills. All of these tasks used to cost more money and time just to get the bills payed. Now, we don’t even have to wait for the mail to get our bills. Many companies now offer paperless billing, and our bills come to our email, or even directly into our bank or credit union accounts.

For some users, learning the ropes of using all these technologies can take some time and also be frustrating at first. As progress is made, many banks and companies are making access to their systems much more user friendly and offer customer support to help you through setting up your electronic accounts.
